About

Greetings! I’m Myron Rodrigues, a passionate robot perception engineer based in the Azores islands of Portugal. With over 7 years of experience in designing LIDAR and computer vision based robot perception systems, I bring a unique blend of creativity and technical expertise to perception systems across mutiple domains.
Skills and expertise
My proficiency includes OpenCV, ROS/ROS2, developing machine vision camera drivers and control algorithms, deep learning in Pytorch and micro-controllers.
My go to programming languages are Python for quick prototyping and C/C++ for high performance systems engineering.
I prefer fedora linux as my daily driver running docker containers (devcontainers) for development.
What I work on
I design and deploy perception systems for robots operating in real-world, unstructured environments. My work spans the full pipeline — from sensor drivers and calibration to real-time perception, tracking, and system integration.
I’ve built perception solutions for:
- LIDAR and camera-based object detection and tracking
- Real-time robotics systems with strict latency and reliability constraints
- Field-deployed robots operating in challenging outdoor conditions
I care deeply about performance, robustness, and maintainability, and I enjoy working close to the hardware while keeping systems production-ready.
